Privacy Policy

FutureSmart ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting the privacy of student data and school information entrusted to us. This policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your data.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly to us, including: school name and registration details, administrator and staff profiles, student records (names, dates of birth, academic data), fee payment records, and contact information. We also collect usage data such as login timestamps and feature interactions to improve the platform.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information collected to provide and operate the FutureSmart platform, generate reports and analytics for your school, send SMS and email notifications as configured by your school, provide customer support, and comply with legal obligations under Tanzanian law.

3. Data Storage & Security

All data is stored on encrypted servers. Student records are encrypted at rest using AES-256 and in transit using TLS 1.3. Access is controlled through role based permissions. We maintain daily automated backups retained for 90 days. Our security practices comply with Tanzania's Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA).

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your school's data with third parties for commercial purposes. Data may be shared with: service providers who assist in operating our platform (subject to strict confidentiality agreements), NECTA or MoEST when required by law, and law enforcement when legally compelled.

5. Data Retention

Active school data is retained for the duration of your subscription. Upon cancellation, data is retained for 90 days during which you may request a full export. After 90 days, data is permanently deleted from our systems. Student academic records may be retained longer if required by Tanzanian education regulations.

6. Your Rights

Under Tanzania's PDPA, you have the right to access your data, request corrections, request deletion, and object to certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at hello@futuresmart.co.tz. We will respond within 30 days.
